Over the weekend, I was flat on the couch, next to my husband, as we both battled the latest round of COVID. We’ve had it before, always a mild case, but this round knocked us out. 😷 So be careful out there!
As we’ve floundered on the couch, the Olympics have kept us entertained, and so I’ve compiled a list of lessons we can take from Paris thus far:
✅ It's never too late to try something new (cyclist Kristen Faulkner)
✅ It's okay to feel your emotions (swimmer Caeleb Dressel)
✅ When you fall, get back up and try again (gymnast Simone Biles)
✅ Celebrate others (gymnasts Simone & Jordan Chiles with Rebeca Andrade)
✅ Only worry about the things you can control (gymnast Ana Barbosu)
✅ You are good enough as you are (sprinter Sha'Carri Richardson)
✅ Don't let others define you (boxer Imane Khelif )
✅ No obstacle is too big if you take steps to address it (sprinter Noah Lyles)
✅ You don’t have to be good at everything (gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik)
✅ You can always reinvent yourself (Snoop Dogg)
✅ Don’t let anyone take away from the gifts that make you *you* (rugby player Ilona Maher - Thanks for this one, Jeff Sharon!)
And finally…
✅ Always dress for the occasion (pole vaulter Anthony Ammirati)
